There he met with headteacher, Mr Neil Hodgkins, students Ben and Megan, as well as speaking to some of the school governors, including Sylvia Taylor.

Gordon said: “It was good to spend time at Devonshire with their Head Mr Hodgkins, some of the students and to chat to Sylvia Taylor and the other school governors there.

“Devonshire as a school has always been rooted in the local community, with a good spread of activities for its students in the community, and that will be an important element of continuity in an area that is changing quickly with the demolition of the Queens Park Estate and the new housing development which will succeed it.”
