Gordon passes on best wishes to schools competing in Stanley Park Football Festival

Gordon has wished the best of luck to youngsters from across the town, who are participating in this week’s Football Festival at Stanley Park.

Gordon, who has both Waterloo Primary Academy and Park Community Academy from his constituency taking part in the event this coming Tuesday (8th March), has in the past supported similar sporting schemes ran by both the local council and Blackpool FC Community Trust.

He said: “This is a great event and I wish the best of luck to all the teams participating in the festival. Football is an important part of the local community in Blackpool and activities like these also play a vitally important role in supporting the development of young people. It allows them to learn new skills, teach them about the importance of good health and wellbeing, and also make new friendships.”

The event will include special coaching sessions for the pupils, all aged between 4 and 5 years old, focussing on skills including dribbling, passing, shooting and goal keeping. All pupils will be presented with a certificate at the end of the Festival.
