It was eyes down at the “Young at Heart” weekly Bingo as Gordon was asked to call the numbers.
Gordon was the special guest of the group - a community friendship group, which meets every week at Ibbison Court - a community centre which Gordon has closely supported in his 18 years as the MP.
Young at Heart was set up by Reverend Augusta Gibrill and commenting on his visit, she said: “It was great to have Gordon there and our members very much enjoyed being in his company. They had a lot of fun doing the bingo and they look forward to him visiting again at some point in the future.
Gordon said: “I was very pleased to be asked to call the numbers at the Young at Heart bingo and everyone who took part had a lot of fun. There is a great sense of togetherness amongst the people in the group, all wanting to help and support one another.
“It is brilliant to see groups like this, which offers community activities, succeeding in Blackpool. I hope to see more of these activities become available for people to join in with.
“Ibbison Court has always been an important hub in the Revoe community and will continue to do so in the years ahead.”
“Young at Heart” is supported by Blackpool Council, and voluntary groups The Richmond Fellowship and “Time to Change”.
